Fiber Optics Technology
The modernization of technology in almost all aspect human pursuits paves the way for a better life. The technology that we enjoyed today has made everything within our reach. In almost any field, be it in medicine, logistics, sports and education, telecommunications; technology has played a vital role to the myriad of ways that people live.
Fiber optics technology in its very own has made extraordinary wonders to the way we live right now. Telecommunications and computer networking are just two of the areas that has benefited from fiber optics technology. Just look around and you will always see that everything has been dependent on fiber optics technology. Your telephone lines are connected with fiber optics cable. Your computer terminals area all connected with fiber optics conduits. Even closed-circuit televisions used in surveillance are now using fiber optics connection.
Fiber optics technology has spanned many decades and will continue to become the top preference among end-users as far as connectivity is concerned. It is even expected that in the few years to come everything will depend on fiber optics, making coaxial wires made of copper metal obsolete.
Fiber optics is the best light wave channel that can work even in across oceans. Fiber optics cables has been laid down on trans-ocean beds because only fiber optics cables can deliver messages in with clarity and a lightning speed. Fiber optics can resists electromagnetic interference, which makes it work even beside coaxial. And only this medium can send messages without amplification especially if the fibers were made of high-grade materials with no impurities.
Another plus factor of fiber optics is its bandwidth, which is the data carrying capacity of the fiber optics. Fiber optics has higher bandwidth compared to copper wires. This can make sending of bulk messages possible. Fiber optics is relatively an affordable technology as compared to the copper metal wires and cables.
Fiber optics technology must have gotten its inspiration from the proposal of John Tyndall back in 1854. Tyndall, who explained before the Royal Society that light, can travel through a bent medium further expressing that like a fountain a light can travel the bent form of water coming from the fountain snout.
The idea has further improved because of the many undertakings of other scientists who were so interested of developing the technology and had it patented on their names. Fiber optics has been the “in thing” in today’s brand of technology. Other technology has become dependent of its functions. Fiber optics is truly the name to beat in today’s generation of technology.
